PERSONAL ASSISTANTS WANTED

We are looking for three kind, reliable and patient Personal Assistants to support a 21-year-old young man to develop his independence, confidence and everyday living skills.

Hours will be shared between the three PAs and there is some flexibility, so this could suit people looking for part-time work alongside other commitments.

The role is about supporting and working alongside him rather than doing everything for him, helping him gradually become more confident and independent.

Support may include:

Planning meals and making a weekly shopping list

Going food shopping together and developing budgeting skills

Cooking simple meals together

Helping establish routines for cleaning and looking after his home

Supporting and prompting with laundry

Helping him read, understand and respond to letters and paperwork

Supporting him to organise his week and remember important tasks

Accompanying him to appointments when required, such as GP or probation appointments

Helping him access the community and develop a positive weekly routine

Supporting him to attend activities such as the gym, boxing or other interests

Encouraging confidence, independence and appropriate social interaction

Approximately 6 of the 26 weekly hours are intended specifically for social/community activities, so some sessions may be longer outings rather than short home visits.

We are looking for people who are calm, friendly, non-judgemental and dependable and who can build a positive relationship while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Experience of supporting young adults with autism, ADHD and/or mental-health needs would be particularly helpful, although finding the right personality and approach is extremely important to us.

A driving licence and access to a car would be advantageous, particularly for appointments and community activities.

Hours can be discussed depending on availability. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who could offer regular weekly sessions and become part of a consistent three-person support team.

For further information or an informal conversation about Jasper and the role, please get in touch.
