Adult Community Learning

Adult Community Learning offer learning opportunities for adults 19 years and over. Their wide range of workshops and courses can help you:

  • learn new skills or improve existing ones
  • meet new people
  • gain a qualification

Their courses and workshops include:

  • Arts and crafts workshops
  • Computer courses
  • Maths and English functional skills
  • Career advice
  • Online short CPD courses

They also offer short (typically around 4 hours) online courses around social care topics, such as:

  • Understanding the safe handling of medication
  • Understanding stress
  • Understanding depression
  • Understanding anxiety
  • Substance misuse awareness
  • Mental Capacity Act
  • Alcohol awareness
  • and much more..

Safeguarding

As part of your registration, PA Noticeboard Personal Assistants have access to two funded eLearning courses to equip you with knowledge about safeguarding children and adults in our community.  In addition to these, all PA’s working on the Isle of Wight can access:

Isle of Wight Safeguarding Adults Board (IOWSAB)

The IOWSAB offer a range of fully-funded courses and free e-learning to professionals from any agency, including the voluntary sector.

Isle of Wight Safeguarding Children Partnership (IOWSCP)

The IOWSCP provides a free, multi-agency, learning and development programme for professionals who work with children and families on the Isle of Wight. The programme is funded by the Partnership.
