About the PA Noticeboard

The Isle of Wight PA Noticeboard is an exciting tool that lists PAs looking for work and Individuals looking for a PA on the Isle of Wight.

The purpose of this service is to give people choice and control over their care, and people from all backgrounds and experiences the opportunity to become a PA.

What is a Personal Assistant in Care?

As a Personal Assistant (PA) in Care you will be directly supporting individuals enabling them to live their daily lives more fully and independently. Read more about how to become a PA. Choosing to become a PA in care can be a very rewarding career. Find out how to register as a PA.

How Does it Work?

PAs;

Once registered and accredited on the PA Noticeboard, PA’s can apply for any position advertised on the board. There is no limit to how many positions you can apply for however, please be mindful that if you are no longer interested in a position the correct procedure is to inform the PA Market Team, Social Care Team or individual involved.

When working as a PA in Care, you will be working directly for the individual you are supporting, you may be paid directly by the individual who self-funds or manages their own direct payment or the local authority Direct Payment Support Service (DPSS Team). Find out more about direct payments here.

Individuals should advertise their role on the PA Noticeboard and can also review PA’s online profiles.  The job description should work for you, see how to create a template job advert. This may seem a bit daunting, but we can support you with information, advice, guidance and one to one support.

Some individuals referred to Adult Social Care may be provided with some or the total cost of their funding to pay for their PA. If you have not yet had an assessment to determine your funding eligibility, please contact Adult Social Care to find out more. Anyone on the Isle of Wight can have a PA, you do not have to be a referred through Adult Social Care.
