Personal Assistant Required in Ryde for Gentleman in His 20s (Ref: SM35515)

Location: Ryde
Hours: 6 hours per week (3 hours twice weekly, days flexible)
Rate of Pay: £16.47 per hour
Driver Essential: Yes
We are seeking a reliable, patient and understanding Personal Assistant to support a 28-year-old gentleman to maintain his independence, wellbeing and daily living skills within his own home and community.
Living independently in his ground floor rented accommodation, he is looking for a PA who can work alongside him in a supportive, encouraging and non-judgemental way. The role focuses on promoting independence, building confidence, establishing routines and helping him manage everyday tasks.
About the Role
The successful PA will provide support with:
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised home environment
• Developing and maintaining daily living skills and routines
• Encouragement with personal hygiene and changing clothing
• Attending health and wellbeing appointments
• Accessing community activities and volunteering opportunities
• Correspondence, forms and applications, including benefits-related paperwork
• Encouragement to access appropriate health services when needed
• Supporting independence through gentle guidance and motivation
• Working towards personal goals and helping maintain his tenancy
He experiences challenges with executive functioning, which can make initiating tasks, attending appointments and managing daily routines difficult. He also lives with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), which can have a significant impact on daily life.
He has a keen interest in history, particularly naval and maritime military history, and would welcome support to explore volunteering opportunities connected to these interests.
