Personal Assistant Required – Immediate Start – Lake, Isle of Wight

We are looking for a kind, reliable and trustworthy Personal Assistant to support our mum with her medication routine.

The Role

The position involves 7 one-hour visits per week. During each visit you will:
• Administer medication (training can be provided if required).
• Prepare a light snack.
• Spend a little time ensuring Mum is settled before you leave.

Although each visit is paid as one full hour, the tasks will usually take around 30–40 minutes to complete.

Hours Required

Morning Visits (9:15am–10:15am)
• Wednesday
• Saturday
• Sunday

Evening Visits (9:00pm–10:00pm)
• Wednesday
• Friday
• Saturday
• Sunday

There is some flexibility around the days for the right person; however, medication must be administered promptly at 9:30am and 9:30pm, so reliability and punctuality are essential.

About Mum

Our mum has a wonderful sense of humour and a real zest for life. She lives with short-term memory loss and Emotional Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD), and has recently been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer.

We’re looking for someone who can provide gentle encouragement while helping her stay on top of her medication routine. She responds best to someone who is warm, positive, patient and able to build a trusting relationship. Although she enjoys a laugh, she can understandably feel vulnerable at times, so compassion and empathy are very important.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:
• Caring, friendly and dependable.
• Punctual and organised.
• A driver with their own transport.
• Ideally female, as Mum’s previous experiences mean that female carers help her feel significantly more comfortable and reduce her anxiety, particularly during the evening visits.

Pay
• £14.50 per hour
• £101.50 per week for the seven weekly visits.
