Personal Assistant Required – 21 Hours per Week – Freshwater (Ref: SM 245796)

Location: Freshwater, Isle of Wight
Hours: 21 hours per week (flexible, typically around 3 hours per day)
Rates of Pay:
• £14.57 per hour for personal care duties
• £12.82 per hour for non-personal care duties
A driver is not essential for this role.
There are no pets in the property.
The client is a non-smoker.
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable Personal Assistant to support an 85-year-old gentleman who lives independently in his own home in Freshwater.
He is a friendly gentleman who enjoys spending time with others, attending church, and visiting the local town. He values his independence and likes to maintain his routines, preferring things to be done in a particular way. As he is experiencing some memory difficulties, he would benefit from gentle support and encouragement to help him remain independent and safe in his own home.
The ideal PA will be respectful, calm, and able to build trust gradually while providing reassurance and companionship.
Duties Include
Personal Care Support (approximately 5 hours per week):
• Gentle prompting with personal hygiene, including bathing and shaving
• Encouraging regular changing of clothes
• Supporting dignity, choice, and independence at all times
Daily Living Support (approximately 16 hours per week):
• Supporting meal preparation and encouraging regular eating
• Checking food is fresh and safe to use
• Light household tasks to keep kitchen and living areas safe and tidy
• Assistance with shopping and accessing the local community
• Providing companionship and reassurance
• Supporting established routines and encouraging engagement in daily activities
