Personal Assistant Required – 10 Hours per Week – Ryde (SM12604)

Rate of Pay: £16.47 per hour
An exciting opportunity is available to support a friendly and creative 19-year-old young man living in the Ryde area. He is looking to increase his independence, access his local community, and enjoy a wider range of social and recreational opportunities.
He has diagnoses of Autism, ADHD, OCD, Anxiety and Severe Dyslexia. His interests include photography, gaming, Dungeons & Dragons, art, science and fencing. He particularly enjoys photography and editing images using Photoshop.
The role will involve supporting him to:
• Access social, leisure and physical activities
• Attend activities such as the gym, swimming, cycling and cinema visits
• Explore community opportunities linked to his interests
• Develop confidence and independence outside the family home
• Build and maintain social connections
• Develop everyday life skills and greater independence
• Gain confidence when travelling and accessing the community safely
Due to anxiety, OCD-related behaviours and difficulties reading public transport information, the successful PA will need to provide reassurance and practical support when accessing the community.
The appointed Personal Assistant will also be required to work in partnership with his Occupational Therapy team to help maintain and support his ongoing progress and goals.
