Personal Assistant (PA) Required – Newport (Ref: SM 180175)

Hours: 6 hours per week
Schedule: 2 hours, 3 days per week (flexible – to be agreed)
Rate of Pay: £14.86 per hour (hours may increase over time)

We are looking for a reliable and supportive Personal Assistant to assist a gentleman living independently in Newport. This gentleman has lived a rich and varied life and has strong connections to the Isle of Wight. He has an extensive background in boat building, yacht maintenance, and teaching boat building skills, and has worked on notable yachts and private estates. He has also travelled widely, including working in the Mediterranean and Monte Carlo, gaining a wealth of life experience.

Now settled back on the Isle of Wight, he lives independently in his own flat in Newport, with family connections on the mainland.

He manages many aspects of daily life independently but would benefit from support with day-to-day tasks and maintaining wellbeing.

Duties include:

Domestic tasks, including laundry
Food shopping and checking for out-of-date items
Prompting and encouraging personal care
Supporting with arranging medical appointments
Helping with accessing the community

The ideal candidate will be:

Reliable and organised
Supportive, with a respectful and encouraging approach
Able to promote independence while offering appropriate assistance

No pets in the home
Client is a non-smoker
Driving licence not required
