Personal Assistant (PA) Required – Cowes, 5hrs per week (SM 217263)

A 93‑year‑old gentleman living alone in Cowes is seeking a kind, patient and reliable Personal Assistant to provide companionship and light practical support to help him remain safely at home.

He lives with dementia and physical frailty, which significantly affect his memory, judgement and awareness of risk. He has experienced repeated incidents of sliding from furniture and being unable to get up without assistance, and he can become confused with household appliances and food safety. Due to these risks, he cannot reliably keep himself safe without support.

His family currently provide extensive daily support, including shopping, food safety, maintaining the home environment and reassurance. However, this level of involvement has become unsustainable and is causing significant carer stress. Additional PA support is needed to ease this pressure and strengthen his care plan.

Family Statement
“Ideally what would be beneficial to both Dad and ourselves would be someone who could offer Dad a bit of company each day with a cuppa (he is a real chatterbox), a quick run round with the hoover and duster if needed, and possibly bring in a small amount of shopping during the week if something is running low. We do a full shop every weekend and freezer shop every two weeks, but sometimes essentials like bread or milk run low and we struggle to get to Dad while working.”
