BSL-Speaking Personal Assistant Required – Ryde (SM 85583)

A British Sign Language (BSL) speaking Personal Assistant is required to support a 57-year-old gentleman living independently in Ryde.

He has a diagnosed learning disability and is profoundly deaf, communicating using British Sign Language (BSL). He is mobile, enjoys accessing his local community, and is looking for support to maintain his independence, wellbeing, and social inclusion.

Duties Include:
• Supporting access to day services and community activities
• Encouraging independence and confidence in social settings
• Assisting with accessing local opportunities and activities
• Providing encouragement and prompting with household tasks and maintaining a clean, habitable home environment
• Prompting and encouraging personal care where required
• Supporting and prompting with medication management
• Providing positive, strengths-based support to promote wellbeing
Hours Available:
Wednesday
• 10:00am to 2:00pm (4 hours)
• Start time can be flexible (for example, 10:30am)
Sunday
• 10:00am to 2:00pm (4 hours)
• Start time can be flexible (for example, 10:30am)
Rate of Pay:
£14.57 per hour
Essential Requirements:
• Ability to communicate using British Sign Language (BSL)
• Full driving licence
• Access to a vehicle to support community access and attendance at day opportunities
• Friendly, patient, and encouraging approach
• Commitment to promoting independence and inclusion

• No pets in the household.
