Personal Assistant for Mum

We are looking for assistance for our dear Mum who lives at home in Ryde and is seeking to maintain her independence while managing dementia and Alzheimer’s.

The assistance we are seeking is for one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon, for seven days a week. This is likely to suit two people in order to provide cover over a full week and during holidays and any sickness absence.

The one hour in the morning would be to provide the following support:
- laundry and change of bedding roughly once a week
- to take Mum to the hairdressers at the end of her road on a Tuesday at 11 am (this is walkable if not pouring!)
- housework for roughly 30 minutes a day on the other days
- give one tablet
- have a cuppa and chat for the remaining time every day.

The one hour in the afternoon would consist of the following assistance:
- give Mum her other tablets and eye drops
- cook a basic dinner (food will be provided)
- have a cuppa and chat for the remaining time each day.

There may be a requirement for some limited personal care, such as applying skin cream. Combined with Mum‘s dementia and Alzheimer’s, which can make her anxious with strangers, this position is only open to female personal assistants.
