Job Advert: Personal Assistant for Elderly Patient with Dementia and Cancer (Morning Care Support)

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Personal Assistant/Carer to support an elderly individual living with dementia and undergoing symptomatic treatment for cancer. This is a part-time role, requiring assistance for 1 hour each morning, focused on personal care and comfort.

Role Responsibilities:

Provide gentle assistance with morning washing and toileting
Assistance with catheter maintenance
Offer emotional reassurance and maintain a calm, respectful presence
Adapt care to meet the needs of a patient receiving palliative/symptom-focused treatment

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with individuals with dementia and/or serious illness (preferred)
A caring, empathetic, and patient manner
Reliability, punctuality, and discretion
A current Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Job Details:

Location: Newport
Hours: 1 hour every morning (time negotiable)
Pay: TBC
