PA required for 2 – 6 hours per week for support to access the community for a young man with epilepsy in Ryde (SM 4551)

The young adult is a 21 year old young man with complex health and emotional needs. He has a diagnosis of ADHD, which he takes medication for. He has a diagnosis of epilepsy with regular focal seizures that he doesn't get any warning are about to happen. These potentially put him at risk of harm, depending on his situation at the time of the seizure. He does also have occasional tonic Clonic seizures but these usually occur at night and does have oromucosal Midazolam prescribed as a rescue treatment.

PA will need to be trained in Epilepsy and rescue medication PA will need to be able to identify if is a focal seizure or Tonic Clon and confidently assess if rescue medication is required and be able top safely support the individual as necessary.
PA will need to be able to encourage and motivate the young adult. Young adult has some history of challenging behaviour that are happy to be discussed with family on application

Hours per week – to be confirmed, initially 2 – 6 hours but room to increase if working well
