Carer required
Support required at weekends for an elderly lady in Brighstone who has moderate dementia. ( This is a gap in a 7 day rota.)
The lady has remained independent with some activities of daily living . She finds it important to be involved and encouraged to be as independent as possible.
Tasks include:-
- Organising and preparing meals
- Managing laundry and bedding
-Prompting to take medication
-Reassuring and orientating
-Supporting and reminding with hearing aids, alarm button, glasses and prompting with phone and digital screen.
-Reminding and setting up for watching TV/DVDs or listening to music
- conversation and encouraging reading newspaper
-ensuring comfort , such as checking the heating is on.
We are looking for a morning visit that arrives approximately between 9 - 10 am AND an evening visit arriving between 4.30 - 6pm.
The pattern can be 1 - 2 hours per day split across the two visits. (eg 1 hour morning +1 hour evening or 1 hour morning and half hour evening etc)
