6 hours per week community support required for young woman in Wootton (SM 9410)
This young person is 19 years old who has a diagnosis of a mild learning disability, global developmental delay with neurological complications. This young lady struggles to communicate verbally. She also suffers from extreme anxiety when accessing the community, and when meeting new people. However, once she has met someone a couple of times this anxiety subsides. She is a very happy, vibrant and energetic young person who has a great outlook on life.
This young person has suffered significant social isolation over the past year and would really benefit from having a PA who has a kind, nurturing nature. She needs a PA to support her to access the community / activities that are of interest to her for six hours per week – which can be used flexibly over weekday afternoons and weekends at the hourly rate of £11.95 per hour.
She loves wildlife and animals, and loves to go for walks on routes that she is familiar with such as beach walks; and walks around places such as Quarr Abbey; Osbourne House; Fort Victoria etc. She also likes to pop into a café that she is familiar with to have a drink and some cake when out and about. She also really enjoys art and craft activities such as cross-stitching puzzles; scratch books; making paper chains etc.
This young lady becomes anxious about crowds and is sensitive to noise. The family have expressed they look for outside seating if somewhere appears busy.
Drivers licence required, no pets or smokers in the home.
