Personal Assistant
PA required for my husband, a 91 year old man with dementia and heart failure. He is not very mobile; can walk a few steps but very unsteady. We do have a stairlift. When taking him anywhere, he has to use a wheelchair, which we have. Presently, we have one lovely PA working two afternoons a week. My husband is supposed to go to a Care Home for 4 hours, twice a week, but I'm not sure that this is working out, as he gets very tired and needs to be able to lie down and have a rest on his bed, which he can't do when away from home. I need more help, mainly to keep him safe and be company for him when I have to go out, or want to do work in the house or garden, or attend courses put on by Carers IW. Hours could be from 11am, say, for 2 or 3 hours, or over the lunch period, or afternoon, depending on what anyone can offer to do. Ideally, I need someone who is cheerful and chatty, with a strong voice, as my husband is fairly deaf, but does have hearing aids. He enjoys playing draughts and dominoes, or being taken out for a drive. We live in Godshill. It would be good to talk to anyone who might be interested, and I could share a lot more information.
